What do we do?

Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel software defined radio solutions for applications including surveillance, emitter location, and interference cancellation. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and submarines. Azure also offers innovative signal processing solutions to challenging problems in the realm of radio frequency spectrum awareness.

What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team.  This position is located at our facility in Melbourne, Florida, with occasional overnight travel to our office in Fairfax, Virginia and/or other locations as needed to support customer activities.  Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for helping to develop and maintain a culture of first-time quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).  This selected candidate will help improve quality of our software products during the research and development of complex SIGINT, EW, radar, communications and other RF mission systems. Duties include the following:

  • Actively participating in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery
  • Coordinate support across SQEs supporting a program, as necessary, to ensure SQE commitments are met
  • Verifies software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards
  • Identifies process or product non-compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities
  • Teams with managers of supplier products to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance
  • Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement
  • Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software quality processes and regulations
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements

- US citizenship, due to nature of the work and contract requirement

- Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance, due to nature of the work and contract requirement

- BS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

- Minimum 2 years’ experience with the software development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

- TS/SCI Clearance

- 5 years’ experience with the software development lifecycle

-  Software quality engineering experience supporting software with AS9115 and/or DO-178 requirements

-  Experience as a software developer or software test engineer

-  Experience performing document reviews; test station code and document peer reviews; and cert sheet updates.

-  Experience performing Data Trend Tracking/Analysis

-  Involvement with products developed using Agile software development practices

-  Experience with DevSecOps and associated tools
