Job Summary: Applies advanced data analysis tools and techniques to provide insights and actionable recommendations for the business. Evaluates past, current, and future predicted performance in multiple scenarios to improve products & processes. Is skilled in both advanced data analysis and an understanding of the business to explain findings to a wide variety of audiences.
Job Responsibilities: - Responsible for applying data analysis tools and techniques to provide insights and actionable recommendations for the business. May use statistical modeling to make predictions about future outcomes in multiple scenarios to improve products & processes. May explain findings to business audience.
- Interprets and applies data in complex analyses and explains findings to internal and/or external business audiences to improve products and processes.
- Uses automation, programming, process improvement, algorithms and/or statistical predictive models and participates in determining analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios, past and current performance, and potential future outcomes.
- Applies analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques such as predictive statistical models, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design and analysis and data mining.
- Develops basic tests and validates hypotheses through the application of a range of advanced mathematical, statistical, scientific and/or computational techniques, such as probability models, machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, data visualization, predictive analytics, data warehousing, artificial intelligence and/or other similarly complex methods.
- Ensures that merchandising programs are developed to align with the customer value proposition.
- Utilizes an advanced knowledge of internal merchandising processes and external best practices and trends to provide recommendations for continuous improvements and advancement efforts for Walgreens merchandising programs.
- May prepare and present interpretation of findings to internal clients.
- Participates in development of programs that establish and enhance standards.
- Develops a firm understanding of Merchandising strategies and the internal structure and process for developing and executing these strategies.
- Serves as an expert and liaison with other internal divisions on the most appropriate data sources, queries, and/or statistical methods to answer business questions. Partners across other divisions (e.g. supply chain, pricing, finance), to understand data sources across the company and ensuring the division is abreast on changes made by other parts of the organization.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Experience with analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS and/or others to perform analysis and interpret data
- Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal (peers, business partners and leadership) and external (business community, clients and vendors) within a matrix organization to ensure quality standards for service.
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
- Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or master’s degree.
- Master’s degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, OR economics
- At least 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: analytics, retail, format design, space planning, forecasting, procurement/purchasing, merchandising, vendor relations, or retail marketing.
