As a Data Engineer, your role will be to build and maintain data processes within a Databricks environment utilizing SQL, Python and Spark. This team also manages all functions for our machine learning platform within Databricks.
In this role, some of your responsibilities will include developing Python, SQL, and PySpark based applications and data flows in Azure / Databricks. Participating in code reviews. Estimating level of effort for assigned tasks and adhering to schedules. Working within with Agile/Kanban development process. Being comfortable working in a fluid and constantly changing environment as well as having ownership for all work.
What is needed/required to be a good match for this role? We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience where you have done full life cycle development of solutions. Met with users, gathered requirements, design, development, implementation...
• 5+ years of SQL
• 3+ years of Python and Spark
• Ability to learn and absorb existing and new data structures and familiar with lakehouse archtiecture.
• Jira and Git exposure
• Experience working in a cloud environment (Azure preferred)
• Databricks! Preferably with Azure vs. AWS. Understand cluster management and looking for a rock star!
• Tableau experience is a plus
• ML Ops experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Agile and Iterative Development (Kanban preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Met with users....can understand business requirements and future state.
• Ability to work independently
• Self-starter attitude with initiative
• Creativity
• Ability to solve complex problems
