**Director of Nursing (RN)**

_(Clinical Director)_

**Schedule:** Monday – Friday In-Office *paid, rotating on-call (may also
include eveningweekend visits if needed while on-call rotation)

**Work Location:** Tampa office (2002 N Lois Ave. Tampa, FL 33607 Suite 210)

33815 Suite 121) _*Must be able to travel to patients’ homes in designated
territory_

**Compensation:********Starting at $72,000-80,000** Base Salary, plus monthly
bonus potential, cell phone and mileage reimbursement.

**Nursing Director Responsibilities:**

* Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
* Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other services to ensure the continuity of the patient’s total regimen of care.
* Promote and enhance the level of clinical expertise of staff to provide safe and quality nursing care for our patients. Assist with Interviewing, selecting, training and validation of new clinical staff. Internal case management, evaluation and development of nursing talent
* Review physicians’ orders and update the plans of care and documentation, as necessary

* Participating in the release of our patients from the facility to their**** home**** through “Start of Care Assessments” and “Re-evaluations”
* Collaborating with the operations and business development team
* Ensure adherence to State, Federal, Local and Aveanna policies and procedures
* Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
* Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.

* Assist the Discharge Planning Coordinator in developing, implementing and periodically updating the written procedures for the Discharge Planning Program.
* Assist the resident and Discharge Planning Coordinator in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan.

**Qualifications of the Nursing Director:**

* Must have good standing license (RN) in the state of FL
* Bilingual a PLUS

* Must have at least 1 year of hands-on nursing experience
* One year of management experience, preferred
* Must be able to travel to patients’ homes in designated territory
* Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and pass MVR check
* Current CPR certification from AHA or ARC

* Must be willing to supervise nurses providing in home skilled nursing care to infants, children, adolescents andor adults

Position Overview
The Clinical Director is responsible and accountable for the planning,
organizing, directing and evaluating nursing services of nursing location
(non-PDHC offices). The Clinical Director (CD) is responsible for the
management of all operational services for their location of responsibility.
Working within the federal, state, and regional regulations covering home
health the Nursing Director works innovatively to meet the needs of our
exceptional patients while fulfilling the Aveanna’s mission of future growth.
Collaborating closely with the Area Clinical Director, the CD establishes and
participates in program development and implementation. The location nursing
team members report up through the CD who oversees hiring, discipline,
training, and all nursing related items.


Essential Job Functions
• Assign patients for day-to-day management to nursing coordinators andor
Nursing SupervisorsManagers
• Maintain open lines of communication with families and physicians
• Evaluate new referrals for admission with recommendations for nursing care
• Monitors clinical status of all patients and ensures coordination of patient
care
• Monitors patient care to ensure quality and appropriateness of services
• Monitor staffing patterns of all patients
• Ensure compliance with Nurse Practice Act
• Evaluate and supervise staff based on mutually agreed upon goals in job
descriptions
• Ensure that the RN supervisorsclinical care managers are aware of any
updated policies and procedures
• Support and assist in registry nurse hiring, orientation and education PRN
• Maintain awareness of third party payer rules and regulations
• Assist and support marketing efforts
• Maintain awareness of monthly budget
• Maintain effective interdepartmental communication
• Performs and provides direct patient care as appropriate and needed
• Participates in location administrative and clinical call as needed
• Perform on site supervisory visits to assess client, family, environment,
and clinical care givers and complete follow-up documentation as needed


Requirements
• Registered Nurse, AssociatesBachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Current Nursing License
• One year of management experience
• Clinical or other work experience as per state andor federal laws and
regulations
• Valid Driver’s License and Acceptable MVR


Preferences
• One to two years pediatricneonatal experience preferred
• One year of home care experience preferred
