Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain. The work model for the role is: Onsite You will be mainly accountable for: • Reporting HSE incidents to the management and relevant stakeholders and taking appropriate actions. • Facilitating, assisting, and providing guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks. • Providing feedback to the management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB. • Supporting and driving behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.
Qualifications for the role - Bachelor degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science OR related degree with manufacturing experience dealing with safety and environmental programs
- Minimum 3 years of experience in EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) preferred
- Previous experience with hazardous materials disposal and DOT Hazmat requirements preferred
- Must possess a good working knowledge and application of current Local, State and Federal Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations
- Experience investigating EHS incidents and assessing risk is required
- Ability to develop materials, facilitate presentations and deliver effective safety training is required
- Must be able to advise and guide managers and supervisors on accident-prevention and loss control enhancements and provide interpretation of related policies and procedures; ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with federal, state, and local regulators is required
- Experience with OSHA 510, 511 for CFRs 1910 and 1926 is preferred
- Experience with Intelex HSE software is a plus
- Professional Certification (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.) from a nationally recognized organization is a plus
- First Aid/CPR/AED certified, or instructor certification a plus
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
