Job Description

At coDesign we are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Design team in the role of Senior Creative Designer. Our team is rapidly expanding, and we're on the lookout for someone who not only possesses exceptional design skills but also embodies a passion for their craft. The ideal candidate will be ready to lead design initiatives, exhibit a strong sense of ownership in their work, and view design as more than just a profession. This opportunity is open to candidates residing on either the West Coast or East Coast of the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on a variety of exciting projects, ranging in scale from small to large.
  • Forge strong partnerships with clients, offering unwavering support and assistance to their internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design Director and fellow team members to ensure the consistent application of our robust methodology through project lifecycles.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with clients, fellow designers, consultants, and technical/construction teams to consistently exceed client expectations.
  • Oversee project teams in all aspects of design work, including the creation of drawings, finish boards, and comprehensive documentation sets.
  • Craft and deliver presentations that captivate and impress our clients.
  • Ensure that projects are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and financially viable.
  • Contribute as needed to various cross-functional initiatives, embodying the spirit of a valued team member.
  • Foster a culture of equality, creativity, and innovation, consistently pushing the boundaries of conventional thinking.
  • Implement industry best practices, processes, and technological solutions to enhance our team’s capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks to the Design Director adhering to ethical guidelines and standards.
  • Continuously enhance your depth and breadth of design skills, staying abreast of market trends and innovations.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years design experience in commercial interiors.
  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent in a design-related field.
  • A genuine passion for interior design.
  • Previous experience working on high-performing project teams, particularly on notable workplace projects.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Revit, Enscape, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to develop existing skills and acquire new ones to contribute effectively to the team’s success.
  • Experience in pitching ideas to high-profile clients, with strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines with a positive and energetic attitude.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build strong relationships and a desire to understand the intricacies of our business.
  • Emotional intelligence, capable of bringing together diverse stakeholders toward a common objective.
  • Strong opinion and communication skills, adept at influencing and persuading stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Previous experience in commercial interior design projects.
