This position is eligible for primarily remote work but may require limited work onsite at times. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location .
Position Summary:
Iowa Health Care department of Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) is seeking a Systems Administrator will assist in the process of interfacing healthcare instruments in clinical settings with middleware that moves data in and out of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR). This position is a high visibility role that collaborates with Pathology, Clinical Applications, Network Infrastructure, IT Security, and instrument vendors. Some familiarity with RS-232 serial-based devices will be needed in the integration process.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and administration of a variety of enterprise Microsoft Windows servers and support of vendor applications and instruments. A moderate understanding of MS SQL, IIS, Windows Printing along with the basic concepts of firewalls, networking, and network-based storage systems is also a requirement.
This individual will contribute to troubleshooting complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of contributing factors. This person must also network with key contacts outside their own area of expertise for issue identification and resolution. Position requires some 24x7 on-call and on-site support.

Pay Grade :
Salary: $56,645.00 to commensurate - 4B
