Job Description and Duties

Under the Office of the Chief, Advanced Training Center and general direction of the Special Agent Supervisor (SAS), the Training Officer I (TO I) is responsible for the development, management, monitoring of budgets, coordination of specialized enforcement courses, and, as needed, instructing such courses.

As the statewide training officer, the incumbent will:
  • Independently plan, organize, conduct, and coordinate specialized law enforcement courses for the Division of Law Enforcement. 

  • Uses various training formats including, but not limited to, in-person facilitator-led courses, webinars, voice-over presentations, and video recordings.

  • Conduct onsite course coordination, contracts with and schedules instructors, and set up classrooms. 

  • Monitor and evaluate course materials and revise as needed in coordination with the SAS. 

  • Review and update POST certified courses every two (2) years.
