Under the supervision of the deputy warden - facility services, our hire will perform duties related to inmate classification, assignment, and work-release coordination. Duties also include facilitating and monitoring re-entry of inmates into the community.
Specific duties include managing an assigned caseload; processing applications, conducting eligibility interviews, determining appropriate placement of inmates to available programs, creating work schedules; coordinating transportation; preparing court orders; performing periodic observed drug screens; providing training and referrals for job-readiness and job search skills; preparing inmates for re-entry into society; generating and updating records and reports; supporting deputy warden - facility services and working collaboratively with a total of three correctional case managers; participating in meetings; establishing rapport with community organizations; and enforcing facility rules in a firm and fair way.
Qualified applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED; a minimum of one year's work experience with at least six months' work experience in either adult or juvenile corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or other directly related field; a valid Pennsylvania driver's license with no infractions on motor vehicle records that would prevent hire; abilities to work well with a diverse population; strong interpersonal relations and communications skills; flexibility to adapt to unexpected situations; self-motivation to remain productive when working alone; basic computer literacy; organizational skills; confidentiality; and a regular presence at work site(s).
