Job Description

HBC Design Group is seeking a creative and dedicated Junior Interior Designer to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a keen eye for design, great attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. This is a great opportunity for a designer that is looking to display their creative talents throughout our different projects.

Responsibilities:

The Junior Interior Designer’s key responsibilities include assisting senior designers, interior finish selections, creating FF&E packages, CAD drawings, and liaising with contractors and clients. The Junior Interior Designer should be comfortable using design software, be able to multitask and work effectively in a team, and have excellent communication skills.

  • Assist senior designers in creating functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces.
  • Select FF&E for projects.
  • Participates in preparing contract documents, including floor plans and details, reflected ceiling plans, furniture layouts, finish plans, and schedules.
  • Assist in creating client presentations.
  • Conduct site visits to oversee the construction process.
  • Use design software to create models and visuals, 3D models.
  • Research and follow industry changes, evolutions, and best practices.
  • Help source materials and products for projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Assist with budget estimates and tracking project expenses.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions when necessary.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Interior Design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator, or other design programs.
  • Basic knowledge of layouts, color theory, and spatial planning.
  • Basic knowledge of finishes, materials, color selections, furniture, fixtures and equipment, and specifications on commercial projects
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
  • Ability to be organized and manage time working on multiple projects.
  • Experience with project management is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and have a hybrid work/home or other office environment.

Additional Information

  • Job Title: Junior Interior Designer
  • Work Environment: Hybrid Office/Home setting with some site visits. Travel will be required for meetings or project management, and project installations.
  • Reporting Structure: Reports to the Senior Interior Designer or Design Director.
  • Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
