Job Description

Opening is for weekends only. Shifts generally are 3pm-11pm on Saturdays and Sundays. More shifts could be available if the client has a need. The position is located at an inactive mine. The officer is stationed in the control room while not doing walking patrols every hour or so. The officer is responsible for locking and unlocking the gates when employees leave and arrive. As a security officer, the overall objective is to protect the client’s premise from the hazards of fire, theft, accidents, vandalism, trespassing, and other damaging influences, both internal and external, maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property, as well as all other client specific duties.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have reliable transportation 
• Must have a clean background – no felonies
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Must be able to work any shift
• Must possess high school diploma or GED
• Must be able to deal with the public
• Must be able to read, write, and speak clear/fluent English
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs/ladders, stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, lift, and work in extreme heat/cold
• Good physical health and fitness is essential
• Eyesight corrected to 20/20 vision as well as a normal sense of hearing and smell are essential
• Must be able to observe and report correctly and in a timely manner; this includes verbal and written reporting
• Must be able to be always highly visible and alert in order to act as a deterrent against theft, trespassing, or vandalism of the client’s property
• An officer is responsible for acquiring and maintaining all license and certification needs to perform their duties
